At Total Pest Control, we are committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our team, our customers, and the communities we serve. As a responsible pest control provider in the Wellington region, we take health and safety seriously and strive to meet or exceed all applicable regulations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA).
Our Commitment
Total Pest Control will:
- Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all workers, customers, and visitors.
- Identify and manage hazards associated with pest control services.
- Supply appropriate information, training, and supervision to ensure safe work practices.
- Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and chemicals are used and maintained safely.
- Make available Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and treatment guidelines to staff and customers.
- Regularly review and improve health and safety systems and policies.
Responsibilities
Management Will:
- Take overall responsibility for implementing and maintaining health and safety systems.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped for the tasks they perform.
- Provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is used correctly.
- Ensure all incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported, documented, and investigated.
- Support a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Employees Are Expected To:
- Follow all health and safety procedures and use equipment correctly.
- Wear protective clothing and PPE when required.
- Report any hazards, injuries, discomfort, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Keep worksites clean and tidy to prevent trips, slips, and falls.
- Support and guide new team members on safe practices.
- Participate in health and safety discussions, meetings, and training.
Customers Are Encouraged To:
- Follow the instructions provided in our Customer Health & Safety Information Sheet and on our website.
- Notify us of any health conditions (e.g., allergies, asthma) that may affect treatment.
- Ensure pets, children, and vulnerable individuals are kept clear of treatment areas as advised.
- Report any post-treatment concerns promptly.
Continuous Improvement
We regularly review our health and safety practices and welcome input from employees and customers. Open communication and active involvement are key to maintaining a safe and effective work environment.
